Nostalgix TCG - Review

Updated: May 26, 2022

Greetings everyone,

Today we will be discussing a TCG that earlier this year has met with full success on Kickstarter in a whopping total of $935,439. Which with on top of it pre-orders has made this game already a 1 Million dollar success story for the creator Zaba.

So before anyone even thinks to ask, why play or even back this game. It looks similar to examples like Pokémon or even Digimon style TCGs?

Well for one as someone who has personally played it with the creator himself, it is beyond easy to learn. Like the best example it literally takes only just a few turns of gameplay, and just like that you will already know this nostalgic feeling of playing a well polished game similar to a few of your childhood tcgs.

The best way to describe this game is that it takes the best traits of Pokémon evolving mechanics, with YuGiOh where you play multiple fighters from hand while playing surprises, and spells in the back row to aid your fighters in combat. Then with your Hero similar to MTG commander, Force of Will or even DBS TCG. These hero’s help aid your fighters as well for you to win the game. This right here is the feeling I got while playing this game, and it’s so simple to learn that I was even able to beat the creator himself at his own game. With this there are two ways of winning this game which makes this game unique. Which is either reducing your Hero’s life points or retrieving all 10 shards of the key spark from your opponent, which are known as collective prizes.

Check out the “How to Play” from the website of the video below.

Which now we have covered the competitive gameplay, we look at the collectability of the game.

"The Base set features 185 diverse cards and is planned to be distributed in 10 card booster packs, 36 pack booster boxes and special 5 pack Elite Hero Boxes featuring a promo card. These will be made available first on our Official Kickstarter Preorder Campaign before being distributed at a later date to featured online and brick and mortar retailers. All Kickstarter products will feature an EXCLUSIVE “Day Zero” stamp making them the rarest copies of these cards that will ever be produced." - Nostalgix website

Which they will also have a secret rarity of Nostalgix TCG holds a dark secret. In Base Set, six Fighters have alternate Dark Arts for you to collect featuring drastically different color schemes and full-card artwork!

With this is created a unique style of collectability while having access to cards comfortably. This game for sure can be played not only by children, but adults alike as well.

So with that said if you are looking for a change of pace or just a different TCG in general I would definitely give Nostalgix a try. You will be able soon enough to pick these cards up at Walmart, and Target from what is being said, as well LGS.

Warm regards mortals,

ArukaAzure
