So I would like everyone to know that I have been following this project since last year when I saw it posted up on a Facebook group page.
So Kamigami: Clash of the Gods is a tactical mythological card game, where you can build decks, collect cards and face opponents both in a campaign mode and also in online mode!
All I have to say is that from watching the progress on the sidelines for sometime now I am very impressed on how they created this. From when you start the game making your way through the tutorial, and as I play throughout the demo. I just think that this game is so visually beautiful to look at, that is complemented with some well done music. I am a sucker for good theming, and music if you know me personally. Key aspects that really make any game being digital or physical so much fun to enjoy. Note that yes the game card art is filled with Wifus, and Husbandos which like Grande Archive TCG can help give any CCG/TCG style game an edge in sales.
Now this game is pretty huge for me to follow for another reason. It was developed with a RPG Maker, which truly impressed me on so many levels.
A comment from the creator Reisen “So the main engine was RPG Maker, but most of the non-RPG stuff were all coded more based on PIXI than RPG Maker itself”
Also “The Visual Novel part is 90% everything that comes with rpg maker.”
With this said for any RPG Maker Developer who ever wonders that one day that they can create something amazing from this engine. This game truly proves that one can create anything from an RPG Maker system.
Now getting into what the game offers, a typical CCG type game with a Campaign, Duek, Deck, Packs, and Shop.
The campaign is a basic Isekai style story with the lead protagonist that is set up as a Visual Novel to tell the story. Here is where you can obtain additional decks, currency and single good cards that can be added into your decks.
Duels are quick battles with either local AI or online battles against others in rank. It also links up with your friends list on steam!!!
Deck where you can search cards, and construct your decks.
Packs is literally a table with all the packs you earned from campaign or have purchased in shop, and you get to pick which ones you open. Literally got to be one of the best features in this game, I know random but I love it.
Shop is where you can purchase packs to obtain cards to add into your deck, but make note that to get the best cards in game S Rank you will have to go into Online Battles to obtain those. Of course battling online which features a chat system that can be used for friends or when battling your opponents.
Gameplay -
You battle your opponent using gods, deity’s, and creatures on a 4x5 battle grid. Each player has their own respected god on their side of the field corner. Where from each turn you gain devotion to spend to play out dirties, creatures or from your hand into the grid. The goal is to use these cards to beat the opponent's god into the ground. Which is a special note that I love the different grids set to the god realms within the game. Of course different play styles to all the gods, as well to individual deck combinations that can be set up. You do have a chance to mulligan if you have a bad hand, but so far I never had a bad one just yet…. Yet!!!

Absolutely love the music for this game -
Disclaimer -
The game still has a few bugs just like any newly released game so bare in mind that this game is a rather small team. Just go into the Discord drop a screenshot with a description of what the issue is within the “bugs&improvements”. Please always remember to be polite, and considerate to any developer especially the indie ones. I personally haven’t ran into any yet, but the team is responsive in getting the game fixed as soon as the issues come up.
The official release of the game is slated for June 2022 this year, and I am personally excited to see what is to come to play the full version. Before you ask from the looks of it the cost will be around $20 US for the full game.
Thank you once again everyone for stopping by, check out some of our other articles.
