Kamigami: Clash of Gods - Official Review

Welcome to the incredible world of Kamigami: Clash of Gods, where you join together with gods, deity’s, and creatures to face off fell gods in the outstanding grid based collectable card game.

All I have to say I was following this project way back when the creator posted on RPG maker groups on Facebook over a year ago now. It’s amazing to see the progress come from what was an idea to a full fledged game. This game is incredibly easy to pick up to play, and has a very enjoyable tutorial that you can learn the game with in one play.

How to play -

You start off with one god on board, a devotion counter, deck, and your grave which mirrors your opponent with a 5x6 grid which your god is located to the corner to your left closest to you.

From there you play cards from your hand either being deity’s, monuments, creatures or miracles. You can move your gods, deity’s, and creatures around the board, but not moments do not move within the grid.

The goal of the game is to defeat the opposing god either being AI or against an opponents in Ranked.

Open packs, Shop, and Deck Building -

This has all the traditional things you would want in a game, packed with a store where you can buy new packs as you unlock through story mode. Plus a table where you can crack open packs, and check out what new cards that you can gain within the packs. You can get up to 360 different cards ranging up to high tier cards which are  B, A, and S rank.

Now I asked the creator on how do you get the higher ranked cards?

“Just by chance, the boosters have equal chances, and that your chances increase the more you open a specific booster.” - Reisen

Now you can collect up to 14 gods total; 3 Greek, 3 Egyptian, 4 Norse, and 4 Japanese different types of gods. Each one that has its very own unique character trait to give it its own advantage, and unique Playstyle. While raving from many on the Kamigami discord, you will see all the amazing chat about this game. Everyone has been saying that this game is incredibly balanced for what it is, and I have to agree. Still in talks what are the top tier decks due to it just got released.

This game is super packed with so much amazing content, and the story elements use the original RPG Maker engine, where the store, pack opening, and gameplay itself is all custom coding. That means yes to all my RPG Maker peeps who have created games that you can always read your dream goals. This game is living proof of this!!!

Now the music is incredible, I absolutely love it so much. I have literally listened to it on my way to work, and back from home. The individual who takes credit here is no less the Jonas Zaggo, you can check out what else he has created here. Now the game in itself is $20 or $30 if you want to purchase it, and get the music for yourself.

Now I had a brief Q/A with the creator, and here is what they had to say -

I was wondering in the future are you planning on making DLC to gain additional story, gods, and cards?

“That is the idea, but it will depend on how well the game does, there is a mobile version that might give a little push to the game soon, but it is a little dark still” - Reisen

Maybe even Alt art cards of your originals that are the best High profiled cards that are being used?

“Same as above, I am wanting to do these things, but if the game doesn't go well, there isn't much to do haha” - Reisen

Any plans on future tournaments?

“I hope so :' D” -Reisen

What’s your plans for the future?

“Now that will depend, I can maybe dedicate myself to Kamigami or maybe a new game, I need to evaluate everything haha.” - Reisen

Now some interesting subjects have come up on the Kamigami Discord, about will there be a rank or seasons coming up with this being a competitive digital card game. Reisen has responded “That once the mobile version is released, they will most likely incorporate the seasons into rank mode in the near future.”

Overall this game is absolutely worth the price even if you purchase music supporting both the game plus the music itself. It’s still 100% worth it, this game is so much fun. Filled with Wifus, and Husbandos you cannot go wrong. Plus the simplicity of the grid, and game mechanics makes it easy to pick up. Yet challenging due to the bitter fact when you face someone else the tides of the grid can change so quickly. So if you haven’t yet checked out this game get the demo, and see what it is all about. It’s cheaper then all the real life tcgs or even the indie tcgs, and for a $20 value you can’t just beat it when buying a booster box which is $80 US to maybe get even a fraction of cards. It’s just so worth it, get this game. I am really hoping for its success, so we can get additional DLC of like 4 more gods, and some alt-art of old gods or high tier used cards would be awesome. Find the game plus the demo "here" or the website https://www.dreamstoriesstudio.com/

I will be doing my first video review, and it will be this game so excited. Have a fantastic day or night everyone, thank you for reading.
